Ayala Alabang is an outer suburb of Metro Manila in Muntinlupa city district in the Philippines around 13 miles (21 km) from the center of Metro Manila. The neighborhood was created in 1981. The old name of Barangay Ayala Alabang was "THE NEW ALABANG VILLAGE," whose name was chosen by Don Enrique Zobel from amongst 5,000 entries and was Annamarie S. Fresnedi's entry to a "Name the Village Contest," started amongst the Ayala Group of Companies in 1978. It was incorporated in a Law whose proponent was former Congressman Roger Quimbao. Large portion of it came from Barangay Alabang. Its total land area of 6.94 km2 (2.68 sq mi) includes Ayala Alabang Village, the Ayala Commercial Center, and the Alabang Country Club. Alabang's population is currently approximately 40,000. The Barangay office, formerly located at the Multi-Purpose Hall along Palawan Street, is now located at the AAVA Community Center (back of AAVA office) on Narra Street.
